To,
A Broken Heart
When you thought you owned my heart I said I was scared to
fall in love again. Faith and hope passed me by. You fooled the heart when you
touched your lips. The gentle feel that ran through the chest, the magical
kisses I felt on the waist. You said I
tasted like the old wine, was best to drink for the whole night. I gave life to
your thirsty soul.
Darling, that was all you needed. I became the same bottle
you opened every night and enjoyed the pleasure of the same old wine. Waited by
my phone all day long for the voice that
never talked to me ,waited for those texts that never brought a smile,
longed for the care that you barely showed, baby, they made me mad.
Never wanted to
argue, never meant to start a war. Didn't wanna break a heart, didn't wanna
tear us apart. I put you up so high with my love, you stoop down so low. You
carefully hid the triumph of your lust behind the truth you faked in your eyes.
Tried to walk away, but you hit so hard. You threw me, you tied me, I fought you, you hurt me. Hated the blame games that gave the scratches, the bruises underneath my skin. Burns of cigarettes and broken bottles never worried you. But, the wars had to stop. We came to an end.
Now I am free from the constant pain. Free from the yelling
and condemning for the reasons I've never understood. But that day, you laid hands on me, burnt the
memories we made, where the heart slowly died, you let me burn, you let me
bleed....you lost what once you owned.
Baby, I'm never coming back. You thought you conquered the pride.
You cannot put me down, you cannot lock me in. You cannot beat this storm into
submission.
If you are the beast whom I left forever, then I'm happy to
break a heart.
But still the night scares me. It is just the scars that
burn. The scars, they tell the tale of how I healed.
It is just another silence that cries with me. The pale moon
gleams on the words poured in just another paper.
This is just another goodbye.
What a tale of heartbreak. Great writing.
